7 Foods that Pair Well with Coffee
In the last post, we wrote about “The 7 benefits of coffee”, and we have discovered how healthy and good this caffeinated drink when drunk in moderation is. Now that we know how beneficial this beverage is, we are going to disclose seven foods that pair well with the coffee.
1 – Black chocolate.
This is the perfect combination when drinking an espresso, it is worth saying that for some people it might be an acquired taste since black coffee and black chocolate come from brownish roasted beans and it can be a bit strong for your palate. This combination is ideal for your noon work break so you can get energy and continue with your day.
2 – Eggs and bacon.
We might think that coffee needs just paired well with something sweet, but it is not always like that, a good companion for your breakfast of eggs and bacon is coffee, besides being a good combination, it has become a tradition to breakfast time in America.
3 – Ice cream.
If you have not heard about this, I introduce you to Affogato, this is what the combination of ice cream and coffee is called. This is an Italian coffee-based dessert. Usually, you need to take a spoon of an icy vanilla ice cream and drown it with a shot of hot espresso; this will make your ice cream melt and mix with the coffee while you spoon it. This is ideal for days where you need to lift your spirits.
4 – Crepes.
We can combine the coffee with chocolate, fruits, and savory crepes. The richness of flavors of the crepes makes it a good match for the coffee; you can ideally accompany it with a cappuccino to enjoy all the flavors on your palate.
5 – Croissant.
The union between croissants and coffee has been so ideal that for this reason, it became a tradition for breakfast time in France and some parts of Italy. The simple and fast part of preparation makes it good for those frugal diets. Worth saying that some fruits after eating enhance your breakfast time.
6 – Oatmeal cookies.
Many people know that coffee plus cookies is a good fusion, and that is true, but oatmeal cookies are the perfect union for coffee since you can have all the benefits out of both things. This couple is ideal after lunch because you can replace that sugary dessert with something healthy that can give you the energy you need for the rest of the day.
7 – Stroopwafel.
This is a wafer Dutch cookie made from two thin layers of baked dough joined by a caramel filling. The way you mix this is very particular, you need to get a hot cup of your favorite coffee and place the stroopwafel on top of your mug, leave it there for a few minutes until it starts to soften, you can turn it over if you want it, and then you can eat it warm enjoying the melting caramel. This is perfect as a snack in the office.
